Butterfinger Candy Bars

DIRECTIONS

   1. add the peanut butter, maple syrup, molasses, vanilla and salt to a small saucepan and mix well. heat over medium-low heat until the mixture is slightly thickened then remove from the heat (or you can heat in the microwave if preferred).

   2. crush 1 cup of corn flakes and add to the peanut butter mixture then mix until well combined.

   3. add the mixture to an 8×5 loaf pan lined with parchment paper and smooth it out using a separate piece of parchment paper. place in the freezer for several hours to harden.

   4. once hardened, remove from the freezer and slice into bars. coat each bar in melted chocolate and sprinkle with sea salt (sea salt optional).

   5. place in the fridge until the chocolate is hardened then enjoy! store in the fridge for up to a week or in the freezer for several months.

 

INGREDIENTS

• 1/2 cup natural peanut butter

• 2 tbsp pure maple syrup

• 1 tbsp molasses (optional, but adds to the butterfinger taste!)

• 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

• 1½ tsp salt

• 1 cup corn flakes 

• 6oz dark or semi-sweet chocolate (i use dairy free and refined sugar free)
